Why BSC?
BSC’s Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) Program is designed with working professionals in mind. The program combines the liberal arts education and data science to provide a holistic approach to problem solving using data and preparing our graduates for distinctive careers in the field.
Our program equips students with the skills necessary to work with complex data sets, create machine learning algorithms, and present findings to stakeholders. Data science integrates mathematics, statistics, computer science, and other foundational elements in quantitative subjects.
Professional Development
Analyze and Interpret Complex Data Sets
Students in a data science program should be able to retrieve, organize, and interpret large and complex data sets using a variety of tools and methods. They should be able to identify patterns and trends in the data and draw meaningful insights from their analysis.
Develop an In-Depth Understanding in Machine Learning and Statistical Modeling
Students should be able to use statistical models and machine learning methods to resolve real-world issues. They should be able to assess the performance of various models and select the most effective one for a particular issue. They should also be able to present their findings to stakeholders and analyze the outcomes of their models.
Collaborate and Communicate Insights Effectively
Data scientists must be able to explain their conclusions and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. Students should be able to visualize their data in a compelling and clear fashion and communicate the results of their study in plain English. Additionally, they must be able to explain the constraints and potential biases of their analysis.
